Welcome to Reiki with Michael

My journey as an "energy practitioner", first began in 1986 when I started practicing Therapeutic Touch with friends, family members and acquaintances. In 2004, I was introduced to Reiki and soon began my training and life-long journey of personal healing and helping others through Reiki. Over the next 3 years I offered Reiki services to friends and family, continued my studies and attended group sessions to both teach and learn from others. In 2007, I achieved my Masters level in the Usui Method of Reiki.

In 2010, I accepted my first "exchange" of money for my services from a Reiki Master in the North Bay area. Asking and receiving payment for Reiki services created a problem for me that has taken me years to understand. One of the principles of the Reiki teaching is that  the "receiver of Reiki" must acknowledge the value of the service through payment. In western society, that typically means money.  Despite my understanding of this concept, I struggled with questions such as, "How can I accept payment for something that comes freely from the universe?"  "Shouldn't Reiki be free?" "Is it disingenuous to accept money for helping others?' After an extended period of time reading, meditating and talking to other Reiki Masters, I have come to an understanding that feels right for me.

Starting March 2013, I am very excited to make myself available for Reiki services in the North Bay and Powassan area.

What I want to share with you is my guiding  beliefs about Reiki and the practice of "exchange by donation."

I believe that ...

A Reiki practitioner provides their client with "a connection"  to the unlimited healing energy available in the Universe.

Every Reiki session is different, and the receiver decides on a soul level how much healing energy they will receive on a physical, mental or "thoughts", emotional and spiritual level. I do not "give you" Reiki. I simply help you "access" the energy you want, at that moment.

In recognition of my time and service, clients will make an exchange by donation, based on what they feel the service is worth to them.
